This systematic review examines cybersecurity challenges in Internet of Things (IoT) systems. We analyze over 300 research papers published between 2018-2024 to identify prevalent security threats and effective mitigation strategies.
Major Security Threats:
- Device authentication and authorization
- Data privacy and encryption
- Network attacks and intrusions
- Firmware vulnerabilities
- Supply chain security
Mitigation Strategies:
We propose comprehensive security frameworks including blockchain-based authentication, edge computing security, and AI-powered threat detection for IoT ecosystems.
